Lebanon

Lebanon is the county seat of Laclede County and one of the most economically active communities in the central Missouri Ozarks. With a population of approximately 14,000, it has the amenities of a regional hub while retaining the character of an Ozark community that genuinely takes pride in itself.

The city sits at the intersection of Interstate 44 and US-65, making it one of the most accessible communities in the region. This crossroads position has driven consistent commercial development and a diverse local economy that includes healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and agriculture. The Lake of the Ozarks is just 30 miles north, giving Lebanon residents easy access to one of Missouri's premier recreation destinations.

Fort Leonard Wood, 45 miles to the east, is close enough for military families who prefer Lebanon's larger community feel and broader amenity base to the Waynesville/St. Robert corridor.

Lebanon offers a genuinely full quality of life. Mercy Hospital Lebanon provides regional healthcare. The downtown square, though transformed from its Route 66 heyday, hosts local businesses, seasonal events, and the kind of community programming that larger cities have lost. Laclede County's parks and trail systems are well-maintained and heavily used.

Bennett Spring State Park, one of Missouri's most celebrated trout fishing destinations, is just 18 miles west. The Niangua River offers excellent floating and fishing. The Lake of the Ozarks — with its 1,150 miles of shoreline, marinas, and resort amenities — is a 30-minute drive north.

The retail corridor along I-44 provides most everyday shopping needs. Springfield (90 miles southwest) and Kansas City (150 miles north) are accessible for day trips.
